In Nigeria, this shift is increasingly visible through initiatives that not only prepare future generations to thrive, but also actively involve them in co-creating the systems that educate them. Among these is the Pre-Service Teacher Education Project (Pre-STEP), an implementation research project led by Sydani Group and CEBAR Consultancy, in collaboration with the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) and supported by the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) Knowledge and Innovation Exchange (KIX) a joint endeavour with the International Development Research Centre (IDRC).

The Pre-Service Teacher Education Project (Pre-STEP) was designed to transform how teachers are trained by equipping pre-service teachers with the pedagogy, content knowledge and technology needed for effective 21st-century teaching.
