In order to provide its population with high-quality healthcare, Niger State is committed to improving its health system and filling the management of Primary Health Care’s capacity deficiencies. The state is now putting the PHCOUR policy into practice to solve the state’s disjointed administration and management, poor funding, and lack of human resources.
To do this, the state partnered with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) to seek technical support to improve its Primary health care management capabilities at the state, local government area, community, and facility levels across 8 key theme areas.
Through TA Connect, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) contracted Sydani to provide technical support for Niger state’s efforts to improve its PHC management capacity.
The Sydani team assessed the state’s primary health care management system’s shortcomings, and then used the results to create a strategy to increase management capacity. To increase the managers’ capacity, this strategy will be executed at the state, local government area, community, and facility levels.
