BMGF-Reducing Vaccine Hesitancy among Healthcare Providers (HCPs) and immediate communities on social media

In March 2019, Nigeria started immunizing its populace against COVID-19. But even among medical professionals, considerable vaccine hesitation was noted. A social media campaign to decrease COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy among HCPs and their nearby communities was designed by BMGF through a group comprising M&C Saatchi, Upswell, and GWU* in six focal States: Anambra, Bauchi, Lagos, Niger, Rivers, and Sokoto.

In order to achieve alignment with important national and sub-national players in the public and private sectors, the consortium engaged Sydani as the Nigerian Convening Partner (NCP) to promote engagement with the government for buy-in, ownership, and leadership to drive the process.

Sydani has supported the campaign phases on health messaging content development and evaluation during the past 12 months. She has also provided leadership in behavior change communication and strategic direction during various stakeholder level engagements.
