Pre-Service Teacher Training Project (IDRC Canada & NCCE)

Implemented across 6 states in Nigeria (Oyo, FCT, Akwa Ibom, Enugu, Taraba, Kano) to test and scale a 4-in-1 evidence-based training model (Microteaching, Jigsaw, Problem-Based Learning, TPSACK).

- Strengthened gender-responsive, inclusive teaching practices.

- Enhanced teachers’ pedagogy, technology integration, and curriculum delivery.

- Mobilized evidence for national adoption of revised teacher training curricula.

We begin by conducting in-depth assessments to understand barriers to access, gaps in quality, and specific teacher training needs. This evidence base allows us to design interventions that are context-specific and grounded in data

Co-Design & Policy Advisory

Working hand-in-hand with governments, institutions, and development partners, we co-create solutions that align with national priorities and international best practices. At this stage, we also provide policy advisory and institutional support to ensure system-wide buy-in and readiness

Implementation & Scale-Up

We roll out tailored programs, including innovative teacher education models, curriculum reforms, and digital learning tools. By piloting and refining approaches, we create scalable models that can be expanded to reach more learners and schools

Monitoring, Learning & Knowledge Sharing

Our final stage emphasizes measuring progress, capturing lessons learned, and sharing insights with stakeholders. This ensures continuous improvement, accountability, and the replication of proven models across regions and institutions
