MoU Signing for the Niger State Laboratory Optimization Project (NSLOP)

Sydani Group, Bloom Public Health and Erba Mannheim Sign MoU for the Niger State Laboratory Optimization Project (NSLOP)

One critical factor often shapes the gap between health challenges and health-seeking behaviour: access to timely, reliable, and accurate diagnosis. Without strong laboratory systems, health workers may struggle to make informed clinical decisions, patients may face delays in receiving appropriate care, and health systems may miss opportunities to improve outcomes.

Bridging this gap requires more than individual interventions. It calls for strategic public-private partnerships (PPPs) that bring together government leadership, technical expertise and private-sector innovation to strengthen health systems sustainably.

Sydani Group, represented by Associate Principal, Akolade Jimoh, PMP, Anne Dede and Akudo Alli, joined Bloom Public Health, Erba Mannheim and the Niger State Ministry of Health’s Public Health Department to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to commence the Niger State Laboratory Optimization Project (NSLOP).

The project aims to strengthen laboratory systems, improve the quality and reliability of diagnostic services, and ultimately support better health outcomes for people across Niger State.

This partnership builds on Sydani Group’s existing relationship with Niger State through other health systems strengthening initiatives. It also builds on the experience of Sydani Group, Bloom Public Health and Erba Mannheim in implementing a similar laboratory optimisation project in Anambra State, providing a foundation of shared learning and experience to inform implementation in Niger State.

We appreciate the leadership and commitment of the Niger State Commissioner for Health, Hon Murtala Muhammad Bagana, and the Niger State Ministry of Health’s Public Health Department in advancing this important initiative.

As implementation begins, we look forward to working alongside our partners to build stronger laboratory systems, improve access to quality diagnostics and contribute to a more responsive and resilient health system in Niger State.
