Context
Context: In response to the growing importance of the livestock sector to Nigeria’s economy and food security, the Federal Government of Nigeria established a new Ministry of Livestock to oversee and regulate this critical industry. The ministry was tasked with the responsibility of developing policies, strategies, and frameworks to manage livestock resources effectively and to ensure sustainable growth in the sector. However, as a newly established entity, the ministry required technical assistance to develop its operational framework, build capacity, and establish affiliated parastatals to support its mandate.
Actions
Sydani Group, through its Agriculture Division, was engaged to provide technical assistance for the setup of the Ministry of Livestock and its affiliated parastatals. Our team played a pivotal role in developing a comprehensive strategy for the ministry, focusing on capacity building, institutional strengthening, and data-driven decision-making.
